The trollface meme. The legendary meme that started it all. Well, it might not be the first viral meme but it might be the most well-known.

The origin of this meme came from a rage comic, which is supposed to signify an internet troll. His smiling face looks so mischievous.

It was originally created by Carlos Ramirez, an artist who became popular on DeviantART.

 

The trollface was uploaded on Sept. 19th, 2008, where it then spread to 4chan and became very popular across the internet.

It also gained a resurgence in 2020.

Even if you weren't old enough to remember it, a lot of people do, and it's a classic for sure. I think we need macros like this to make us laugh and bring us all together. I personally love this meme, it's so funny and makes me smile.

There are so many variations on it as well. You have got to love that. You can look up all the different versions of it and have yourself a laugh fest. Who doesn't love this meme, honestly? I think we all do. Or at least most of us. 

I remember when I first saw it, I was kind of intrigued by how unique it was. It's a great little illustration that encapsulates the essence of trolling.
